Selected Works — Metaphor, Memory & Storytelling

Narrative & Editorial Illustration · Visual Storytelling · 2023–2026

Illustration

This selection brings together editorial, narrative and character-led illustration shaped by metaphor, memory and human behaviour. Across personal pressure, bicultural identity, pain and collective behaviour, I use approachable images to make complex ideas emotionally immediate. The visual language moves between watercolour, digital colour, tactile texture and childlike character work, but the method remains consistent: identify the human tension, find the clearest metaphor and build an image or story that can communicate beyond explanation.

Illustration Approach

I use metaphor as a bridge between an abstract idea and an immediate image. Clear silhouettes, flattened composition, tactile texture and character-led storytelling make difficult subjects approachable, while cultural detail keeps the work specific. Whether the outcome is one editorial image or a complete story, the aim is the same: communicate a layered idea with clarity, emotion and a little unexpected humour.
